In order to strengthen its network and postal operations in rural areas and to facilitate the Small Savings Scheme to the large population of the villages, the Department of Post has now expanded all Small Savings Schemes.

The branch has been up to the Post Office level. That is, through the post office of the village, also invest in schemes like Public Provident Fund (PPF), Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP), National Savings Certificate (NSC), Monthly Income Scheme (MIS) and Senior Citizen Savings Scheme (SCSS). Will be able to Till now, accounts under these schemes could be opened only in the urban branches of the post office. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad has given this information by tweeting.




Through the new order, branch post offices have also been allowed to provide facilities of Public Provident Fund, Monthly Income Scheme, National Savings Certificate, Kisan Vikas Patra and Senior Citizen Savings Schemes. Rural people will now be able to get the facilities of the same post office savings bank, which are being taken advantage of by the people living in the city. They will be able to deposit their savings in popular schemes only through the post office of their village.
