September 2 – Sri Narayana Guru Jayanti. Bank holidays in Kochi, Gangtok and Thiruvananthapuram.
September 17 – Mahalaya Amavasya. Banks closed in Agartala, Kolkata and Bengaluru. In many states, due to Vishwakarma Day, there will be a holiday.
21 September – Sri Narayana Guru Samadhi Day. Banks holiday in Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.

23 September – Haryana Heroes Martyrdom Day. Closed in banks in Haryana.
September 28 – Sardar Bhagat Singh Jayanti. Holiday in many banks in Punjab.
Apart from these, banks will also be closed due to the weekly holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays and Sundays that come every month.
