Jan Aadhar Authority decides to take arbitrary rates at e-Mitra centres

Now, the applicant will have to pay Rs 50 to apply for all government services.

Jaipur: E-Mitra operators will no longer be able to recover arbitrarily from consumers. The first meeting of the Jan Aadhar Authority has taken a decision in the public interest after complaints from the Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister.

The state government has released a new rest list on 80,000 e-friends from filing applications for government services, commercial services to print out of certificates per transaction and PVC card. The rate list will come into effect from 1 September 2020.

Now, the applicant will have to pay Rs 50 to apply for all government services. Similarly all commercial services will have to pay a fee of Rs 100 to apply. This application fee includes document scan, application form, print etc.

At e-Mitra centres, if any examination, university or government scheme fee is charged, an additional fee of Rs. 2, 000 will be charged up to Rs. 10 and then rs. 2 per 1000. A certificate will have to pay Rs 30 per card of PVC print, documents containing digital sign which is being printed on government stationery, Rs 20 per page and Rs 10 per page of printout on A4 sheet (plain paper). There will be no fee for payment of electricity, water, telephone bills and janadhar card enrolment. At the same time, you can call toll free 181 for complaints about non-service or rates on any e-friend.

All fixed rates will come into effect from September 1
In fact, there are 80,000 e-mitras in the state. They provide a total of 450 types of services. About 7 million people use e-friends per month. At present, the rates of services provided to the public through e-Mitra kiosks vary from Rs 5 to Rs 200 per service, making it difficult for the public to know and understand the rates of services. So this kind of a step has been taken. Also, service charges (commissions) are provided on behalf of the concerned department for services provided on e-Mitra, including electricity, water telephones, etc. These services are free for the public. Service charges (commissions) for some services are payable on behalf of the public at the rates fixed by the State Government. such as original residence, caste certificate, recruitment application etc.

Complaints were coming every month of arbitrary charging
Due to varying rates of services, the public had difficulty in understanding the rates of services from filling up forms to print out certificates on PVC cards due to non-display of rate list of all services at e-Mitra kiosks, which led to complaints of additional charge from the public. In view of the public complaints, the state government has divided the service fee into three categories to bring about simplification and uniformity in rates.
