CBSE Class 10 boards cancelled, what about Class 12?

The Central Board of Secondary Examination has cancelled the pending Class 10 board exams, however, students are perplexed about Class 12 boards. Here’s what the CBSE secretary, Anurag Tripathi has to say.

CBSE Exam Update: Amid coronavirus lockdown, the Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, has come to a conclusion that it will not be conducting Class 10 board exams. In short, they have explicitly refused to conduct the Class 10 CBSE board exams this year. Therefore, students will be promoted to the next class on the basis of their internal assessment marks. However, nothing has been confirmed about Class 12 CBSE board exams 2020.

CBSE Secretary Anurag Tripathi has said, “As the minor subjects of Class 10 Board exams were pending, it can be cancelled.” Further, he informed that the students can be promoted to the next academic session on the basis of their internal assessment marks among other methods to judge the performance of students.



To clear the confusion of students, CBSE released a circular on April 29, Wednesday, with the details of the pending CBSE Class 10 exams.

Class 12 CBSE Board exams

When asked about Class 12th CBSE board exams, he said, “The world is together fighting against the coronavirus outbreak, including the CBSE boards and people associated. We all are stuck in the lockdown. Parents should not panic and let their children do self-study in the meanwhile. The decision will be uniform for the students across the globe once the situation gets better.” He asked students and parents to be patient, when asked about Class 12 board exams.

Manish Sisodia on Class 10 and 12 Boards

Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia has tweeted that it is not feasible for the authorities to conduct CBSE Class 10 and 12 exams amid coronavirus lockdown.



Moreover, he has also requested the Minister of Human Resource and Development to look into the situation and promote the students of both classes on the basis of internal assessment marks.
