After Palghar in Maharashtra, two sadhus killed in UP’s Bulandshahr, accused arrested
The case of the beating of two saints in Palghar, Maharashtra, was not calm yet that two sadhus were brutally murdered with sharp arms in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh on Monday night. When the villagers arrived at the temple on Tuesday morning, they found dead bodies covered with blood of the sadhus. There is a lot of anger among the villagers from killing the monks. As soon as the information of the incident is received, the police has arrested the accused till the spot.
Sadhu Jagan Das (55 years) and Sevadas (35 years) lived for the last nearly 10 years at the Shiva temple located in village Pagona of Anupshahar Kotwali in Bulandshahr. Both sages lived in the temple and were absorbed in worship. On Monday night both the sadhus were killed with sharp weapons in the temple premises. When the villagers reached the temple on Tuesday morning, they found dead bodies covered with blood of the sadhus. Seeing this, there was chaos. A large number of villagers reached the temple.
The villagers informed the police about the incident soon after which SSP Santosh Kumar Singh, CO Anoopshahar Atul Choubey, Kotwal Mithilesh Upadhyay reached the spot along with the police force. SSP Santosh Kumar said that in this case, the police arrested Raju, a young man from the village, in a state of intoxication from another village, about two kilometers from the scene. Police is interrogating him. It is said that 2 days ago, the accused youth had disappeared the tongs of the sadhus, which the sadhus expressed their displeasure. Due to this anger, the said young man is suspected of killing both the sadhus at night. The police is investigating the matter deeply.
Meerut ADG Zone Prashant Kumar said, “A case of murder of two sadhus living on Shiva temple in Bulandshahr. With the help of villagers, the police arrested a village man. A drunk person. According to Bulandshahr police, the said person had disappeared Baba’s tongs, due to which Baba scolded it. Prima facie, due to this the person has killed both Baba, the villagers had also seen the person carrying the sword from the spot, the accused is currently under arrest, the rest will be questioned strictly when they come to their senses.
At the same time, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, taking cognizance of this incident, directed the DM, SSP and other senior officers to reach the spot immediately and give a detailed account of this incident and ensure the strictest action against the culprits.
