EPFO Life Certificate: deadline for submission of life certificate extended, check new deadline

EPFO Life Certificate Last Date extended: The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the deadline for pensioners to submit life certificates till 28 February 2021. This will benefit the 3.5 million pensioners present with EPFO. EPFO has stated in the statement that due to the current Kovid-19 epidemic and due to older people’s susceptibility to corona virus, EPFO ​​has extended the deadline for submission of Life Certificate (Life Certificate). According to the statement, it is for those pensioners who are receiving pension under EPS 1995.



Pension will not stop

Currently, pensioners can submit life certificates at any time during the year up to 30 November, which is valid for a period of one year from the date of issue. EPFO stated that during this extended period, pension will not be withheld for 35 lakh pensioners who will not be able to submit their life certificate during November 2020.

Let us know that every pensioned person has to submit a life certificate i.e. life certificate in the bank having a pension account in November every year. A life certificate is proof of the pensioner’s survival. If not deposited, pension can be stopped.

Submit life certificate in this way

Pensioners can submit their life certificate physically or manually by visiting their pension account’s bank branch or any branch. Pensioners can also get life certificate digitally in any branch of their bank, at the nearest post office, through their PC / laptop / mobile, from https://ift.tt/1tQ069I, from nearest Aadhaar outlet / CSC, through Umang app, EPFO can submit to 135 regional offices and 117 district offices.

Recently India Post Payments Bank has started the service of submitting digital life certificate for pensioners from home. EPS pensioners can now submit online requests to avail digital life certificate service from home on payment of nominal fee. A postman from the nearest post office will go to the pensioner’s house and complete the process of preparing a digital life certificate.
