EPFO: Deadline to submit life certificate for pensioners extended till 28 February
The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has extended the deadline for grant of life certificates to pensioners till 28 February 2021. The move will benefit about 35 lakh people who have not been able to submit their life certificates till November due to the corona virus epidemic. The statement of the Ministry of Labor said that pensioners who have not been able to submit their life certificates till November 30, will get pension every month till February.
“In view of the Kovid-19 epidemic and the danger to the elderly, the EPFO has extended the deadline for submission of life certificates for pensioners receiving pension under the Employees Pension Scheme-1995 to February 28, 2021,” the statement said is.

Right now any pensioner can submit a life certificate during the year till 30 November. This certificate is valid for one year from the date of its issue. Now all such pensioners can submit a life certificate by 28 February 2021. The Ministry has stated that the pension of 35 lakh pensioners who could not submit life certificates till November 2020 will not be withheld during the extended period.
