Government’s big decision on LPG subsidy, read full news

The government is now going to sell its stake in BPCL i.e. Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited. Regarding which, the question has arisen in front of crores of customers of LPG gas, what will happen to the subsidy they get now. On which the government has made it clear that consumers will continue to get the benefit of LPG subsidy even after the privatization of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited.



Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan has given clarification on the government’s side. He says that the benefit of subsidy on LPG gas cylinders is given directly to consumers, not to any company. In such a situation, the company selling LPG gas will not have any effect on the subsidy.

It is worth mentioning that the government subsidizes LPG to consumers of oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation ( OIC), BPCL ( BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited ( HPCL) . Due to this, consumers get domestic LPG gas cylinders at low prices. Subsidies (given by the Government Subsidy) money is sent to the accounts of people.

This scheme was also linked to the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana during the Corona period , so that financially weaker people could get cylinders for free. But subsidy money is not coming in the accounts of consumers for a few months. In such a situation, many types of questions are arising in the minds of consumers.

While answering these questions of consumers, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has told that even after the privatization of BPCL, consumers will continue to get LPG subsidy. Explain that subsidy is provided by the government to consumers of oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation ( IOC), BPCL ( BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited ( HPCL) .

How much government stake in BPCL ?

Let us tell you that the government has a 53 percent stake in BPCL , which the government is selling. After this, the new owner of the company will get 15.33 percent of India’s refining capacity and 22 percent of the fuel market. There are a total of 28.5 crore LPG consumers across the country , of which about 7.3 crore consumers use BPCL LPG gas.

How many gas cylinders are subsidized?

The government subsidizes a maximum of 12 cooking gas cylinders , which are 14.2 kg gas. This subsidy is sent directly to consumers’ bank accounts. Explain that the consumers who buy LPG at the market price from the dealer , subsidy is also sent to their account.
