Possibility of taking decision in 2-3 days on interest charged by banks: Center informs SC

The Center today informed the Supreme Court that it is likely to take a decision in two to three days on the interest charged by the banks on the installments during the postponement period in view of the COVID19 pandemic.



The apex court asked the Center to bring the verdict on record and give the affidavit in a set of pleas challenging the parties on deferred installments.

The Center informed the apex court that the matter has been considered very seriously and the decision-making process is at an advanced stage.



A bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan said that it would hear the petition filed by various industries, trade associations and individuals on 5 October.
