Looking To Get e-PAN Card From Your Home? Here’s How You Can Get It

A permanent account number (PAN) is an alphanumeric identification of 10 characters provided by the Indian Income Tax Department in the shape of a laminated ‘PAN card.’ It serves as a major evidence of identity. PAN is also essential for the filing of income tax returns. The e-PAN is evidence or proof of a PAN. E-PAN has a QR code that includes demographic information of holders of PAN cards, such as the name, date of birth and photograph of the individual. This information is duly acknowledged and accessible through a QR code reader.

Steps to get or download the digital version of your PAN Card from your home or office. (Note- Downloading a digital version of your PAN Card (e-PAN Card) is a paid facility).

  • Visit NSDL portal and fill-up all the necessary details such as PAN card no, Aadhaar no, Date of birth and GSTN (optional).
  • This service is only open to those whose most recent PAN application is being assessed via the Income Tax Department’s NSDL e-Governance and/or e-Filing platform.
  • Now enter the correct captcha code and you can download the e-PAN Card from UTIITSL portal.
  • If the mobile number and e-mail of the user are not recorded, the user can do this first by applying to the e-PAN download facility later via a change / correction request application.
  • The ePAN downloading facility is available via OTP-based Aadhaar authentication.

How to download e-PAN Card via Aadhaar based e-KYC method?

  • You can verify the status of the application at any time by submitting your correct Aadhaar number and you can download the e-PAN upon effective allocation.
  • If the e-PAN is registered with your Aadhaar, you will also receive the e-PAN card on your registered email id.
