Big Aadhaar PVC Cards update: UIDAI launches new pocket friendly model with new security features

new Delhi. The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) introduced the Aadhaar card in a completely new form in October 2020. You can now get your Aadhaar number reprinted as Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) card. The new PVC Aadhaar card is shaped like an ATM or debit card and is very easy to keep in your purse or pocket.

Indian citizens can get their Aadhaar number reprinted on a PVC card with a normal fee of Rs 50 . A registered mobile number is also no longer required to order a PVC Aadhaar card online. Rather, one member of the family can order PVC Aadhaar card for all the members of his family from the same mobile number. Users can also place orders for PVC Aadhaar cards using any non-registered or alternate mobile number.

For Aadhaar PVC card, an order can be made by one person for the whole family using their mobile number. UIDAI has said in a tweet that now you can use any mobile number to get OTP for authentication and for this you no longer need a registered mobile number.   • How to order for Aadhaar PVC card with registered and non-registered mobile number:

    • Open the official website of UIDAI and go to ‘My Aadhaar’ section and click on ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’.
    • Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number / 16 digit virtual IU / 28 digit EID
    • Now enter the security code or captcha code shown in the picture and click ‘Send OTP’. Now you will get an OTP on the registered mobile number.  
    • For non-registered mobile number, click on “My Mobile number is not registered” option. Now enter the non-registered / alternate mobile number. Now click on Send OTP.
    • After submission, you will get a preview copy of the PVC card.
    • Now click on the payment option and pay 50 rupees to order the PVC card. The Aadhaar PVS card will be sent to you via speed post within five days from the date of ordering.
    • Check your Aadhaar PVC card status as follows:

      • The Aadhaar PVC card states can also be tracked on the UIDAI website.
      • Go to ‘Check Aadhaar PVC card status’ and click on ‘My Aadhaar’ tab.  
      • Here you will need to enter 28 digit SRN, 12 digit Aadhaar number and captcha code. After clicking on ‘Check Status’, you will be able to see the status of your Aadhaar PVC card.
      • All forms of Aadhaar like e-Aadhaar, M-Aadhaar, Aadhaar letter, Aadhaar card are all equally valid.
      • You can choose any format of Aadhaar issued by UIDAI. The ‘Order Aadhaar PVC Card’ service is available online on demand for Indian citizens.
