The government has made it mandatory to link the accounts of all banks with Aadhaar. The government has implemented this process on both new and old accounts. But there are still many people whose bank accounts are not linked to Aadhaar accounts.

It is also mandatory for the account holders of State Bank of India, the country’s largest bank, to be linked to savings accounts. If the account holders do not link their bank accounts to Aadhaar then it will not be possible to do any kind of transaction. Keeping in mind the convenience of the customers, SBI has provided several ways. Through which account holders can link their bank account to Aadhaar.

Link account through SMS

SBI account holders can link bank account to Aadhaar through an easy SMS. It is important to note here that the customer’s mobile number should be registered in the bank account. 

  • Type the message. UID <space> <Aadhaar Number> <Account Number>
  • Send message to 567676
  • You will get the message to link to the Aadhaar bank account
  • If your Aadhaar link is not there, in that case also you will be asked to go to the message and bank branch.
  • If your mobile number is not registered in the bank account, you will still get the message.

Link with Aadhaar with the help of mobile app

SBI account holders can link the account with Aadhaar from the SBI app. 

  • Open SBI Anywhere Personal Mobile App
  • Click ‘request’
  • Select base option
  • Select ‘Aadhaar Linking’ option
  • Select CIF Number from the dropdown menu.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number and confirm
  • Tick ​​to read the terms and conditions
  • Submit button and click
  • You will get the message that your Aadhaar number is linked to the bank account
  • Click ‘OK’ to complete the process.

Link SBI account to Aadhaar with the help of internet banking

You can link SBI account to Aadhaar through your Internet banking account. It is very easy. 

  • Visit the official website of SBI www.onlinesbi.com
  • Login to your Internet banking account
  • Click on ‘E-Services’
  • Now select ‘Update Aadhaar with e-account’
  •  Now enter your password and click on ‘Submit’ button
  • Now go to the dropdown menu and select ‘CIF Number’
  • Now enter your Aadhaar number twice and click on submit button
  • Your Aadhaar will be linked to your SBI account

How to link SBI account to Aadhaar with the help of ATM

If you can link bank account to Aadhaar through ATM The method is as follows:

  • Go to SBI ATM
  • Insert your card into machine
  • Click on ‘Service Registration’ option
  • Now click on ‘Aadhaar Registration’ option
  • Now select Account Type Current / Saving 
  • Enter your Aadhaar Number
  • Re-enter your Aadhaar number for confirmation
  • Your application will be accepted by the bank
  • Your Aadhaar will be linked to the bank account

Go to bank and link Aadhaar to SBI account

You can also link your bank account to Aadhaar by visiting your bank branch:

    • Go to the nearest SBI Bank
    • Take the original Aadhaar card and a copy of it together
    • Fill the Aadhaar link form and submit it along with Aadhaar copy
    • The representative may ask you to see the original basis
    • The representative will register your application and give you a receipt.
    • Your Aadhaar will be linked with your bank account
