Bank Holidays In January 2021: 14 Holidays In Total, Check The Complete List Here
Banks in India will be closed for 14 days in January 2021, covering four Sundays, the second and fourth Saturdays, and one national holiday. These holidays can vary from state to state, as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), and are different from bank to bank. To stop any last-minute confusion, customers are advised to schedule their bank-related task appropriately. Though banks will stay closed on these days, mobile and internet banking will remain functional. As for the year 2021, banks will stay closed for more than 40 days in India. It should be remembered that, under the Negotiable Instruments Act, RBI was notified of the dates given below.

16 January 2021- Uzhavar Thirunal
23 January 2021- Birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose
25 January 2021- Imoinu Iratpa
26 January 2021- Gaan-Ngai
A holiday will take effect on 14 January 2021 at banks in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Gangtok and Hyderabad. Banks in Chennai and Guwahati will stay closed for Thiruvalluvar Day or Magh Bihu and Tusu Puja on January 15, 2021. On January 23, 2021, because of the birthday of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, only Agartala will enjoy a bank holiday. Whereas on January 25, 2021, owing to Imoinu Iratpa, only Imphal can enjoy a bank holiday. In addition, banks will be shut for 19 holidays for the first quarter of 2021 (January-March), apart from Sundays and 2nd and 4th Saturdays.
