You can convert your Aadhar card in English, Assamese, Urdu, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Oriya, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi languages. You can apply online to change the language in Aadhaar.

Updation process

Visit the official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/. Here under Update Aadhaar section, click on Update Demographic Data Online. Doing so will take you directly to the Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal. On this page enter your 12 digit Aadhaar number, enter the captcha security code and hit the send OTP button. Now a 6 digit one-time-password will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter the received OTP in the Enter OTP field and click on Login button. In the next screen, click on the Update Demographic Data button.

The next page will list all demographic data. Select the regional language in which you want to convert Aadhaar. The Name and Address fields will also be selected by default. Since both these areas need language translation. Now on proceeding follow the instruction to update demographics in the popup and click on submit.

If your name is already spelled correctly in local language then you do not need correction. If the spelling is wrong, edit it. Similarly repeat the same process in the address option. Finally, check everything by clicking on the preview option, now proceed with the process. Now one time password will come on your mobile.

Will have to pay the prescribed fee

You have to pay the prescribed fee to change the language. For this you can pay online using your Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking. After the payment, the new language update request in your Aadhaar will be successfully submitted and you will be able to download the new Aadhaar.
