But now if you want, you can get it in your regional language as well. UIDAI is now offering the facility to create an Aadhaar card in the regional language .

The source can be changed in these languages

People can change their Aadhaar Card in English, Assamese, Urdu, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Oriya, Kannada, Malayalam and Marathi if they wish . You can also apply online to change the language of the source. Let us know about the complete process of this new feature of Aadhaar.

Renewal process

  • To update the language in the source, you must first go to UIDAI’s official website https://uidai.gov.in/ .
  • Under the ‘Update Aadhaar’ section here, click on the place to update the statistical data online.
  • Now you will reach the ‘Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal’.
  • Now on this page, enter your 12 digit reference number, enter the captcha security code and click on ‘send OTP’.
  • You will now receive a 6-digit one-time password on your registered mobile number.
  • Then enter the OTP and click the Lock button.
  • On the next screen, click the Statistics Data Update button.

How to update name and address

The next page will have details of all the population data. Now select your regional language. The name and address will be selected automatically. Now submit your application following the procedure given to update stats in popup. If your name is already spelled correctly in the local language, you do not need to edit much here.

You can check and correct the spelling once. Similarly, if there is an error in the address ( Aadhaar Address ) can be corrected. Now finally click on ‘Preview’ to check if all the information is correct and proceed further. Now you will get a one time password on your mobile.

To pay the prescribed fee

If you want to change the language of the Aadhar card, you have to pay the prescribed fee. You can pay online using your debit / credit card or internet banking. After this, a request for a new language update will be submitted to your resource. After this you can download the new Aadhaar card.

The process of updating the language on the Aadhaar card can take 1 to 3 weeks. If you wish, you can also change your language to Aadhar through the Aadhar Service Center.
