New portal of Income Tax will be launched on June 7, know what will be special in this

Income Tax New Portal: The purpose of the new portal is to increase the facility of taxpayers.

The Finance Ministry has recently announced the launch of a new Income Tax portal. The www.incometax.gov.in portal will start from 7 June. Its address is kept shorter than the existing portal www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in . The new portal aims to increase convenience for taxpayers.

The existing portal will not be available between 1 to 6 June.

Currently, income tax returns and forms are filed at www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in . Over the years, other modules like Faceless Assessment, Appeal and Response to Notice under Compliance Section have been added to it.

On the existing portal, there were reports of problems in filing near the scheduled date. There were also difficulties such as reduced capacity for filing documents by taxpayers.

The new portal has been made more convenient in terms of taxpayers. On this, processing of income tax returns will be done immediately, which will lead to refunds soon.

On this, free software will be available to prepare ITR, so that even taxpayers who have very little knowledge of tax will be able to fill the returns.

All important desktop functions of the portal will also be made available on the mobile app. There will be options like NetBanking, UPI, Credit Card and RTGS / NEFT to pay tax on it.

Along with increasing facilities for taxpayers by the Income Tax Department, steps are also being taken against tax evaders. In the last few years, the Income Tax Department has made efforts for automatic exchange of information from various authorities of the country and abroad.

Information is also being collected and analyzed from sources such as credit card companies, investments and other expenditures by taxpayers. This has greatly helped in reducing tax evasion.
