Uttar Pradesh government will now give house on rent cheaply, know who and how can avail this scheme

The Union Government announced the Affordable Rental Housing Complex Scheme in the Budget 2021 under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Housing for All. Now the scheme has got the approval of Uttar Pradesh Cabinet (UP Cabinet).

What is plan

In the cabinet meeting chaired by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the rental housing and complex scheme has been approved. According to news agency PTI, it will be implemented in two models.

According to the first model, houses which have not been allotted in various schemes under the Affordable Housing Scheme. They will be given on rent.

Apart from this, under the other model, builders will be built and rented from the builders. These builders will get many types of discounts.

What will happen now

After the approval of the cabinet, the state government will have an agreement between the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. After this, the state government will issue instructions to all its departments. On the basis of these instructions, the rental policy will be prepared.

Who can take advantage of this scheme

According to PTI, under this scheme, migrant laborers, economically weaker people, factory workers, people working in educational institutions and students can avail of this scheme.




According to PTI, preference will be given to persons belonging to SC, ST, Backward Classes, widows and working women, persons with disabilities and minorities.

How to get a house on rent

It is being told in media reports that the rent of the house will be decided on the basis of location. Must be contracted for the house. After this, the rent can be increased up to a maximum of 8 per cent every two years.

If put in easy terms, the fare will be increased by four per cent every year and up to a maximum of 20 per cent in five years.

Where do you have to apply

There are no complete guidelines regarding the rental policy yet. But it is being told in many media reports that under this scheme, it can be applied to go to Municipal Corporation, Municipality and District Panchayat to take a house on rent.
