The Income Tax Department has set 31 March 2021 as the last date for linking PAN card with Aadhaar card.
New Delhi. Have you linked your PAN card to Aadhaar Card? The Income Tax Department has set 31 March 2021 as the last date for linking PAN card with Aadhaar card. If you do not do so by 31 March, your PAN card will be deactivated. Apart from this, under the Income Tax Act, you will have to pay a fine of 1000 rupees.
PAN will be disabled if not linked
The Central Government has passed Section 234H added to the Income Tax Act 1961 under the Finance Bill 2021. It was passed in the Lok Sabha on 23 March. Under Section 234H, if you do not link your Aadhaar with PAN by the last date fixed by the government, then you will be fined a maximum of Rs 1,000. If you are not able to do so by the last date, then your PAN will be deactivated.
1. Method of linking PAN to Aadhaar through income tax website
>> First go to the Income Tax website
>> Enter the name, PAN number and Aadhaar number given in the Aadhaar card
>> In the Aadhaar card, just tick the square when the year of birth is Mentioned
>> Now enter captcha code
>> Now click on the link Aadhaar button
>> Your PAN will be linked to Aadhaar.
2. Method of linking PAN to Aadhaar by sending SMS
For this, you have to type on your phone- UIDPAN, after this, write a 12-digit Aadhaar number and then a 10-digit PAN number. Now send the message mentioned in step 1 to 567678 or 56161.
