Different charges (plus tax) applied for multiple services from Post Office

Issue of duplicate passbook: Rs 50

Issue of account statement: Rs 20 per statement

Issue of deposit receipt: Rs 20 per receipt

Issuing a passbook in lieu of lost or maimed certificate: Rs 10 per issuance

Cancellation or Alteration of Nomination: Rs 50

Transfer of account: Rs 100

Pledging of account: Rs 100

Issue of cheque book in Savings Bank Account: No fee for up to 10 leafs in a fiscal year and Rs 2 per cheque leaf thereafter

Charges on dishonour of cheque: Rs 100

Points to consider

Post office savings schemes, other than those listed above, also include the Senior Citizens Savings Scheme (SCSS), Public Provident Fund (PPF), Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP), Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY), and so on. In a memorandum dated May 13, 2016, the Finance Ministry announced that KVP and NSC certificates will not be provided in physically pre-printed format with effect from July 1, 2016. Whether in the ‘exclusive e-mode’ or ‘passbook’ they will be released. Hence, if in case you have lost your NSC certificate or if it’s in a maimed state, then you’re going to have to reissue it in a passbook form where you have to pay Rs 10 per issuance. Likewise, in a calendar year, if you are a holder of a post office savings account and need more than 10 cheque leafs, then you will be charged Rs.2 per additional cheque leaf.
