Today we will talk about Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana which is a scheme of the Central Government and it is run by LIC. This scheme is a social security scheme which is mainly for rural landless families. This scheme provides financial assistance to those families in which the head dies untimely and the family is in great trouble. The central government runs this scheme so that the family’s expenses can be met.

The applicant’s age should be between 18-59 years to take this scheme. Only the person who is the head of his family can take this scheme. Or the earning member of BPL family can take this scheme. That is, if the applicant is not the head of the family, then he must be the member whose earnings cover the expenses of the family.




How much money do you get

In this plan 5 benefits are available simultaneously. If the applicant dies due to natural causes, then an amount of Rs 30,000 is given to his family under this scheme. If the person taking the plan dies due to accident, then his nominee is paid Rs 75,000. If the head of the family becomes physically handicapped in an accident, he will be given Rs 75,000. If the person taking the scheme becomes mentally handicapped, then he will have to pay Rs 37,500. Under the fifth benefit, if the plan taker dies, two children of the family will be given a scholarship of Rs 100 every month from class 9 to class 12.

Premium is free

The premium of Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana is Rs 200 per year. In this, 50 percent is filled by the central government and the rest 50 percent by the state government. Overall, the person gets the benefit of the scheme for free. To take advantage of this scheme, you have to submit 5 necessary documents. You can start this scheme by submitting ration card, birth certificate, school certificate, voter ID card and Aadhar card.




How to claim

In this scheme, the claim money is transferred to the beneficiary’s account through NEFT. If the facility of NEFT is not there, then after the approval of any authority, the claim amount is deposited in the account of the beneficiary. Here the beneficiary himself can be the person taking the scheme when he is getting financial assistance in the event of an accident. If the subscriber of the scheme dies, then money is deposited by LIC in his nominee’s account.

In case of disability, the insured will make the claim himself. He has to submit all the necessary documents along with the claim form. LIC also gives scholarship to the children of the insured under the Aam Aadmi Bima Yojana. The amount of scholarship is Rs 100 per month. This scholarship is given at an interval of 6 months. The beneficiary has to claim every 6 months to get the scholarship.
