Budget 2021: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, while presenting the budget for the financial year 2021-22, counted the achievements of his government. He said that this time the budget has been prepared was a big challenge because the country and the world are going through a deep crisis. Nirmala Sitharaman also informed about the steps taken during the lockdown due to Corona. He said in Parliament that the way the budget was made this time, it has never happened before. This was a big challenge. Last time when we were presenting the budget, it was not known where the global economy was going to go. We did not imagine that we are moving towards health crisis.
The Finance Minister further said that during the three-week complete lockdown, Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana was launched. 80 crore people benefited from this. Eight crore families got free gas cylinders. A large population was at home. Despite this, health workers, bank workers, electricians, our Annadata and jawans continued to work in a normal manner. He said, ‘I thank these people on behalf of all the members of the House who did not let the foundation of the country degenerate. Members of Legislative Assembly and Parliament gave salary. We provided self-sufficient packages. 27.1 lakh crores was given on this, which is 13 percent of GDP.
Different schemes took care of everyone in lockdown
Giving information about the steps taken during the lockdown, Nirmala Sitharaman said that PM Modi opened the treasury for the poor sections. Under this, the poor, laborers, children and the elderly were taken care of through different schemes. Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, self-reliant scheme is like mini budget. The self-sufficient package carried forward the reform. Reforms like One Nation, One Ration Card, Production Linked Incentive, Faceless Income Tax Assessment were put forward.
