Punjab National Bank is going to change the rules of withdrawing money from its ATM from 1 February i.e. tomorrow. The bank has taken this step to stop the growing ATM fraud across the country. PNB Bank has given information about this by tweeting on its official Twitter account.

PNB Bank tweeted that from February 1, customers will not be able to withdraw money from non-EMV ATM machines. The bank said that to protect our respected customers from fraudulent ATM activities, it is going to restrict transactions from non-EMV ATM machines from 01.02.2021. Go Digital, Stay Safe!

Know what are non EMV ATMsNon-EMV ATMs or non-EMV ATMs are those in which ATMs or debit cards are not used during transactions. In these machines, the data card is read through a magnetic strip. Here the card is also locked for a few seconds.

Current OTP based cash withdrawal facility – In December 2020, the bank changed the rules for withdrawing cash from ATMs. In which OTP based cash withdrawal facility was introduced. Under this facility, one time password (OTP) is sent to account holders to withdraw cash over Rs 10,000. It is not possible to cache without OTP.

withdraw such cash from OTP- based system – If you withdraw cash or more than 10 thousand rupees, the bank sends you OTP to the registered mobile number. The bank allows you to withdraw money after intercepting the OTP on the mobile.
