PM-KISAN: Know who can avail the PM Kisan Scheme, who does not

Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) completes two years. 6000 rupees are transferred to bank accounts every year for each farmer, know who can get benefits and who does not.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) completed two years on 24 February 2021. The PM Kisan Yojana was launched in 2019 by PM Narendra Modi, which aims to provide income support to all landholder farming families across the country with cultivable land under certain qualifications. Under this scheme, every four months, three installments of Rs two thousand each, ie Rs 6000, are added to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.




Who can get the benefit of PM-KISAN scheme

All the land holding farmer families, whose name is cultivable land, are eligible for benefits under the scheme.

Who can not get the benefit of PM-KISAN scheme

Those excluded from the PM-Kisan include institutional land holders, farmer families holding constitutional posts, serving or retired officials and employees of the state or central government as well as public sector undertakings (PSUs) and government autonomous bodies. Doctors, engineers and lawyers as well as pensioners with a monthly pension of more than Rs 10,000 and professionals paying income tax in the previous assessment year are also not eligible.

How many times in a year will the benefit of PM-Kisan scheme be given?

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, financial benefits of Rs 6000 per family per year will be provided to the families of all land holding farmers in three equal installments of Rs 2000 every four months. Under this scheme, the first installment every year between December 1 and March 31, the second installment between April 1 and July 31, the third installment between August 1 and November 30, are directly transferred to the beneficiaries account.

PM Kisan Yojana to small and marginal farmers only?

Initially when the PM-KISAN scheme (February, 2019) was launched, it was only meant for the families of small and marginal farmers with a combined land of up to 2 hectares. The scheme was later revised in June 2019 and extended to all farming families irrespective of the size of their land. The central government had decided to give a benefit of Rs 6,000 per year to all 14.5 crore farmers in the country under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, irrespective of the size of their land.

These families will not get the benefit of PM-KISAN scheme, 6 thousand rupees will not come in the account

The government said on Wednesday that it has directly transferred more than Rs 1.15 lakh crore to the bank accounts of more than 10.75 crore farmers under the PM-Kisan scheme. Addressing a function on the occasion of the second anniversary of PM-Kisan, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said that the government has asked the states to ensure that all eligible farmers get the benefit of this flagship program. Tomar said that so far 10.75 crore farmers have benefitted from this scheme and the Center has disbursed more than 1.15 lakh crore rupees directly into the bank accounts of farmers.
