OTT does not have any censor board, as it is for films, so they have been asked to do self-classification. OTT applications have to provide parental lock facility. With which it will be necessary to appoint companies as complaints officer. Who will note the complaint of the audience. The company will have to make three tier arrangements for monitoring. Action will be necessary on the report of the complaint in 6 months. The content will be categorized according to the age of the audience

Along with this, while talking on this particular subject, Prakash Javadekar said, “Program code is for TV. Program code for OTT will come. We are not bringing sensors for this now. We are just asking them to do the classifieds. It is only being said that what children cannot see, it has to be monitored. With this, the complaint officer will have to take immediate action in the case of nudity. The platform will have to remove that content within 24 hours. ” It has to be seen how much OTT platforms follow the government guidelines.

Describing it as an important subject on the day of 9 February, Javadekar had said that guidelines regarding it have been prepared and will be implemented soon. Earlier, Mahesh Poddar of BJP raised the issue that during the Kovid-19 epidemic, the Internet has emerged as a very useful online platform and OTT platform for entertainment has increased the reach of people.
