The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday said that the cyclone is very likely to cross Saurashtra-Kutch and Karachi coast on June 15 afternoon with a wind speed of 125-130 kmph gusting to 150 kmph.

Commissioner Alok Pandey told reporters that Chief Minister of Gujarat Bhupendra Patel held a meeting with District Magistrates of coastal districts, representatives of Army, Navy and Indian Coast Guard and officials of various departments. Pandey said officials of various departments have been instructed to prepare well in advance and coordinate to minimize the impact of the cyclone in the coastal districts.

Pandey said, “In the meeting, the Chief Minister has directed all the departments to carry out maximum possible relief and rescue work in coordination with the District Magistrates of the districts likely to be affected by the cyclone.” The Chief Minister has given this responsibility to senior ministers of the coastal districts, who will help the local administration in planning and executing disaster management work keeping in view the likely impact of the cyclone.
