Airplane Prices Drop: Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia said on Wednesday that air fares on some routes from Delhi have been reduced by 14 to 61 per cent after the advisory group meeting of airlines held on June 6. Emphasizing on the monitoring efforts of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the ministry, Scindia expressed satisfaction over the reduction in maximum fares from Delhi to destinations like Srinagar, Leh, Pune and Mumbai.
Addressing the press conference, Scindia said that I am happy to say that on June 6, maximum fares have been reduced by 14-61 percent on flights connecting Delhi to Srinagar, Leh, Pune and Mumbai. DGCA and the Ministry are monitoring the daily fares.
There should be a cap on fare hike in all sectors
During this, the Union Minister highlighted the work done by the aviation sector in the last nine years under the BJP government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further said that even private airline companies have their own social responsibility and there should be a cap on fare hike in all sectors.
