New Delhi. Go First, stuck in financial crisis, has canceled flights till May 28, 2023. Earlier, citing operational reasons, it was announced to suspend flight operations till May 26. The airline had expressed hope that it would be able to resume bookings soon.

Let us tell you that the flights of GoFirst, facing voluntary bankruptcy proceedings, have been closed since May 3. The airline had said in its bankruptcy petition that it was facing a huge financial crisis. After the bankruptcy petition, the DGCA issued a show cause notice to the airline asking why its license should not be canceled after it failed to operate the flight. Along with this, he had also asked GoFirst to stop selling more air tickets with immediate effect till further orders.

DGCA asked to submit revival plan within 30 days

Aviation regulator Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked GoFirst to submit its revival plan within 30 days. Along with this, the DGCA has also asked the airline to provide information about flyable aircraft, pilots and other employees, maintenance and funds, among other things. DGCA has issued this order after the reply received from the airline on its show cause notice issued on 8 May.

GoFirst operates flights to 35 destinations

GoFirst is the budget airline of the Wadia Group. GoFirst operated the first flight from Mumbai to Ahmedabad in November 2005. The company’s fleet includes 59 aircraft. The airline operates its flights to 27 domestic and 8 international destinations i.e. a total of 35 destinations.
